Documentary and Discussion: Race: The Power of an Illusion at the Vienna Community Center As part of the Town of Vienna's Liberty Amendments Month, we partner with the Vienna Community Center to show Part II of this acclaimed documentary series. Learn more about how the transition from indentured status to permanent slave status became associated with skin color and how flawed pseudoscientific definitions of race led to exclusion of various rights for Blacks, Native Americans, and Hispanics in American history. After the documentary is shown, there will be a guided discussion, led by a Fairfax County's Chief Equity Officer, Karla Bruce. This event will be held at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St. SE, Vienna, VA 22180. Complimentary popcorn and water will be provided.
